We have been using Prokon with our university students over the last 5 years, and it has proven to be an invaluable tool in enhancing their understanding of structural analysis and design. We are really grateful to Prokon Ltd for the donation of software for training our students and staff. Prokon has availed us with the latest version, with the current features, including the most up-to-date design codes. The software is very simplified, especially the SUMO facility, cutting down design time so that the engineer is left to do what he/she is best at -optimising design by checking various alternatives without delaying completion of design, resulting in very economic and safe structures. Before I started using Prokon Software, my biggest challenge was version control of design spreadsheets by different designers. Prokon Software helped me overcome this challenge by integrating all the design calculators into a single hub for better quality control. I found the pattern load analysis features of continuous beams (Module C01) incredibly handy because they reduce the time spent counting the load pattern in design compared to other analysis tools on the market. In addition, the deflection calculation is very useful and accurate and can reflect the contribution from the actual reinforcement used. These allow the designer to better deliver an efficient structural solution. Since implementing Prokon Software, we've seen a significant improvement in efficiency and consistency in the way the design calculations are standardized. Overall, my experience with Prokon Software has been very positive.
